Only a quick one today, it’s one of those sleepless weeks yet again… but today I stumbled upon those exciting news and I thought I better share those with you:
Bushido has been one of those Skirmish games I am eyeing with for quite some time now. While there surely are some cheesy sculpts in their portfolio, most of their miniatures are great and their background (more or less set in a fictional Sengoku-era Japan) is a lot less cheesy than the oriental settings of other tabletop games. As you might surely call me an “East Asia-Aficionado”, I am of course interested in that one.
So far I didn’t buy anything for this game, though, mostly because I couldn’t really settle for a faction, with both the Prefecture of Ryu and the Cult of Yurei holding great appeal to me, with only few miniatures I don’t like. The Temple of Ro-Kan is also interesting, though I have to admit that I dislike a larger number of miniatures there – but that ape is making up for a lot of those…
Anyway, now GCT – the company behind Bushido – revealed a Kickstarter Indiegogo project, seeking funding for a fifth faction, the Ito, which are probably the Shiho Clan. Unlike the Dragon Clan, those are not normal Samurais, but apparently allied themselves with a lot of snakes…
Kickstarter projects are all the rage in the Tabletop world and I follow quite a number of those with a lot of interest. But I have to admit I seldomly felt the urge to take part in such funding… this time it’s quite different… of course there’s always the risk that the miniatures would turn out to be badly sculpted, but I don’t expect that in this case… and I am pretty interested in getting this faction published…
Well, I still have 29 days to consider… keep you posted on that one…
